História

Founded on 3 August 1950 through a merger of local clubs, Olympique Lyonnais established itself as one of French football's stable forces. Between 2002 and 2008 it won seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles, an era marked by European regularity and player development. The club moved from Stade de Gerland to Groupama Stadium (Parc OL) in Décines-Charpieu. The women's section is a European reference, with multiple Champions League titles. Rivalries with Saint-Étienne (derby du Rhône) and with Parisian sides structure the calendar. Blue, red and white identify Les Gones, with a support base rooted in the Lyon region and a culture of academy development.
