História
Airdrieonians FC, founded in 2002 in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Diamonds, it collected the 2002 refounding (distinct from 1878–2002 Airdrieonians) and Excelsior Stadium in the Championship. Rivalry with os clubes de Lanarkshire and a red and white identity shape fans and narrative. Excelsior Stadium, local support and Excelsior Stadium sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals.
