History
Ayr United FC, founded in 1910 in Ayr, Ayrshire, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Honest Men, it collected Scottish second-tier titles and the Ayrshire derby with Kilmarnock. Rivalry with Kilmarnock and a white and black identity shape fans and narrative. Somerset Park, local support and Somerset Park sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
