History
FC Alverca, founded in 1939 in the Ribatejo town of Alverca do Ribatejo, returned to Portugal's top flight after decades between the Primeira Liga and lower divisions. Known for youth work and promotion cycles, it played in the Primeira around the turn of the millennium and has reasserted itself nationally. Blue and white colours and Ribatejo identity link the club to the local Tagus-side community. Complexo Desportivo FC Alverca hosts supporters; regional rivalries and proximity to Lisbon shape daily life. Formation work and ties to the area's industrial fabric keep Alverca on the modern Portuguese football map.
