The current crest is a blue-and-white shield with the club’s initials and heraldic cues linked to Vila Nova de Famalicão. Blue and white — adopted early after an initial green-and-white period — define the kit and the nickname Azuis e Brancos. There is no official motto lettered on the badge.
Founded on 21 August 1931 in Vila Nova de Famalicão by a group of local friends, Futebol Clube de Famalicão — the Azuis e Brancos, or Fama — spent decades in regional championships and lower national tiers before consolidating in the Primeira Liga in the twenty-first century. In the 1990s it completed four straight top-flight seasons; after returning in 2019/20 it reached the Europa League group stage. It holds no major national trophies (league or cup); identity rests on industrial Minho roots and a stable elite project. In 1945/46 it reached the Taça de Portugal semi-finals, a rare landmark in the club’s long history.
