History
Club Atlético Banfield, founded in 1896 in Banfield, is the green-and-white Taladro of southern Greater Buenos Aires: 2009 Argentine champions and a century-old neighbourhood club. Green and white colours and southern conurbano identity link the club to the local community. Estadio Florencio Sola hosts supporters; title cycles and youth work shaped generations. Neighbourhood culture and institutional continuity keep Banfield on the Argentine map. Green-and-white identity and supporter ties continue to define the club's path in contemporary football.
