History
US Gendarmerie Nationale started as a local answer to a simple need: a team for Niamey to call its own. Since 1990 the name has stayed on team sheets, programmes and dressing-room doors. Playing in Super Ligue means midweek travel, tight budgets and crowds that know every player by name. When US Gendarmerie Nationale play at Stade Général Seyni Kountché, the stands hold roughly 35,000 — numbers that matter less than the noise the regulars make. Write the history in big headlines or in quiet paragraphs; either way, US Gendarmerie Nationale belongs to Niamey, Niger.
