History
Universitatea Craiova, founded in 1948 in Craiova and Oltenia, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Știința, it collected Romanian titles, national cups and Ilie Balaci's 1980s legacy. Rivalry with clubes de Bucareste and a white and blue identity shape fans and narrative. Stadionul Ion Oblemenco, local support and university tradition and modern rebuild sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
