Crest meaning

The heart-shaped crest draws on Seville’s arms: Ferdinand III enthroned between Saints Isidore and Leander; on the right the interlaced SFC monogram; below the club’s red-and-white stripes; at the centre an old-style football. The lasting design is rooted in Pablo Rodríguez Blanco’s 1921–22 work — not Saint Isidore alone.

History

Founded on 25 January 1890 in Seville — formally registered in 1905 — Sevilla Fútbol Club is among Spain’s oldest clubs and Andalusia’s most decorated. La Liga champions in 1945/46 and five-time Copa del Rey winners (including 2007 and 2010), they hold the record in the UEFA Cup / Europa League with seven titles (2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020 and 2023), plus the 2006 UEFA Super Cup. They play at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in Nervión and share the Seville derby with Real Betis as a core of local identity. The blanquirrojos nickname and sevillista support sustain European nights at the Sánchez-Pizjuán.
