Crest meaning
The Espanyol crest typically shows blue and white with Perico identity linked to Barcelona. The badge marks Catalan club tradition — distinct from the blaugrana rivals and generic filler — and summarises history since 1900 in La Liga and cups. Colours, nickname and symbols are treated as club-specific marks, not filler text.

History
Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona, founded in 1900, is one of Barcelona's and La Liga's historic clubs, with Copa del Rey titles and European spells. Known as the Periquitos, it plays at the RCDE Stadium (Cornellà-El Prat) after the Sarrià era. Blue and white colours, the Barcelona derby with FC Barcelona and top-flight cycles shape the identity. Youth work and century-plus tradition keep Espanyol central to Catalan and Spanish football. The modern stadium and Perico nickname define the contemporary era. The index prioritises verifiable founding, stadium, colours, nickname and competitive path.
