History

Paysandu Sport Club, founded in 1914 in Belém, Pará, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Papão da Curuzu, it collected the 2002 Copa dos Campeões, multiple Pará titles and Série B cycles. Rivalry with o Remo, no Re-Pa and a bicolour blue and white identity shape fans and narrative. Estádio Estadual Jader Barbalho (Banpará), local support and Curuzu and Mangueirão on Pará match nights sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals.
