History
Orlando Pirates FC, founded in 1937 in Orlando, Soweto, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Bucs, it collected 1995 CAF Champions League, PSL titles and Soweto tradition. Rivalry with Kaizer Chiefs and a black and white identity shape fans and narrative. Orlando Stadium, local support and historic Soweto club and Orlando Stadium sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
