History
Notts County FC, founded in 1862 in Nottingham, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Magpies, it collected the 1894 FA Cup and Meadow Lane, next to Nottingham Forest. Rivalry with Nottingham Forest, no Nottingham derby and a black and white identity shape fans and narrative. Meadow Lane, local support and Meadow Lane sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
