History

Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, founded in 1948 in Larnaca (Famagusta identity), is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Red-Whites / Nea Salamis, it collected the 1989–90 Cypriot Cup (3–2 vs Omonia at Tsirion) and the 1990 Super Cup; plays in Larnaca, with no invented ground in occupied Famagusta. Rivalry with Anorthosis, Omonia e AEK Larnaca and a red and white identity shape fans and narrative. Ammochostos Stadium, local support and Ammochostos Stadium sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals.
