History
Mercu Buana Medan belongs to Medan, Indonesia the way a neighbourhood pitch belongs to its streets. Since 1983 the name has stayed on team sheets, programmes and dressing-room doors. They move through the domestic pyramid as form and finances allow, like so many clubs of their size. Home games are tied to Stadion Utama Sumut, a ground listed around 15,000 seats — big enough to roar, small enough to feel close. Strip away the big-club noise and sides like Mercu Buana Medan are why the sport still feels close to the ground.
