History
Genoa Cricket and Football Club, founded in 1893 in Genoa and Liguria, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Griffin, it collected pioneering Italian titles as Italys oldest club. Rivalry with Sampdoria (Derby della Lanterna) and a red and blue identity shape fans and narrative. Stadio Luigi Ferraris, local support and 1893 and Luigi Ferraris sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
