History
GAIS, founded in 1894 in Gothenburg, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Makrillarna / Green Black, it collected Allsvenskan titles in the early professional era and shared Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg. Rivalry with IFK Göteborg e Örgryte IS and a green, black and white identity shape fans and narrative. Gamla Ullevi, local support and Gamla Ullevi sustain the contemporary project.
