History

FK Vardar, founded in 1947 in Skopje, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Red-Blacks / Vardar, it collected twelve Prva MFL titles (1992–95, 2001–03, 2011–13, 2014–17, 2019–20 and 2025–26), six Macedonian cups and the 1960–61 Yugoslav Cup (the 1986–87 Yugoslav league title was later reassigned to Partizan; Vardar played the 1987–88 European Cup). Rivalry with Shkëndija, Pelister e Sileks and a red and black identity shape fans and narrative. Toše Proeski Arena, local support and Toše Proeski Arena sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals.
