História
Deportivo Alavés, founded in 1921 in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country), is a historic Basque and Spanish football reference. Known as the Babazorros, it plays at Mendizorrotza and spent long spells in La Liga, reaching a UEFA Cup final in 2001. Blue and white colours, Basque rivalries and elite–Segunda cycles shape the story. Youth work and Alavesista identity keep the club on the La Liga map. Mendizorrotza remains an anchor of football in Álava. The index prioritises verifiable founding, stadium, colours, nickname and competitive path. Editorial copy avoids generic filler and centres on identity and competition facts.
