History
Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was founded in 1921 in Belo Horizonte (origins linked to the Italian community as Palestra) and is one of Minas Gerais's most decorated clubs, with Brazileirão titles, Copas do Brazil and Libertadores. The Mineirão is the traditional home. Sky blue identifies the Raposa; the clássico with Atlético Mineiro structures the rivalry. Cycles of national and continental titles and the bond with the Mineirão mark Cruzeiro identity across more than a century of Brazilian football. The club maintains a professional structure, player development and a regular calendar in the main competitions.
