History
Chesterfield FC, founded in 1866 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Spireites, it collected the 1997 FA Cup semi-final run and the SMH Group Stadium succeeding Saltergate. Rivalry with os clubes de Derbyshire and a blue and white identity shape fans and narrative. SMH Group Stadium, local support and SMH Group Stadium sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
