History
CD Tenerife, founded in 1922 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Chicharreros, it collected La Liga cycles, 1990s UEFA Cup nights and the Heliodoro. Rivalry with a UD Las Palmas, no derby das Canárias and a white and blue identity shape fans and narrative. Heliodoro Rodríguez López, local support and Heliodoro Rodríguez López sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
