History
Borussia VfL Mönchengladbach, founded in 1900 in Mönchengladbach, was a 1970s Bundesliga power with multiple titles and European finals. White and black-green colours and the Die Fohlen nickname link the club to North Rhine-Westphalia. Borussia-Park hosts supporters; rivalry with Köln (Rhine derby) and top-flight cycles shape daily life. Youth work and Fohlen tradition keep Gladbach on the German and European football map. Local identity, player development and the bond with supporters continue to define the club's path in contemporary European football.
