Crest meaning
Blacks Power’s badge projects strength and local pride for Lira and northern Uganda. The modern name, adopted in 2020, replaced the old Bukedea Town Council identity so that the crest reads as a community club rather than a municipal department. Dark tones and bold lettering reinforce the “power” branding that fans adopted after the move to Lira.

History
Blacks Power FC began in 2006 in Bukedea District as Bukedea Town Council FC, climbing regional leagues before reaching the FUFA Big League. In September 2020 FUFA approved the rebrand to Blacks Power FC; when the Bukedea ground was judged unfit, the club relocated to Lira and was embraced by a region that had lacked top-flight football for years. Blacks Power won the 2021/22 FUFA Big League title to earn a first Uganda Premier League season, later returned to the Big League, and won the division again in 2025/26 to secure another UPL promotion. The side has become a flagship club for Lira City and northern Ugandan supporters.
