Bayer 04's crest features the stylised cross associated with the Bayer brand and red-and-black club colours. The link to the pharmaceutical company is historic and institutional — not a recent ornament. The badge summarises Werkself identity and Leverkusen's path in German football, without inventing heraldic lions that do not appear on the current logo.

História
Bayer 04 Leverkusen was founded in 1904 as the Bayer company club and established itself in the Bundesliga as a stable force in German football. It has won the DFB-Pokal and European honours (UEFA Cup), and in 2023/24 became German champions unbeaten under Xabi Alonso — a historic landmark. The BayArena is home. Red and black identify the Werkself; regional Rhineland rivalry structures the calendar. The club combines industrial tradition, development and European ambition without being a Ruhr mass classic in the same sense as Dortmund or Schalke.
