History
Atlético Nacional, founded in 1947 in Medellín, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as Verdolagas, it collected 1989 and 2016 Copa Libertadores, Colombian titles and paisa tradition. Rivalry with Millonarios e Independiente Medellín and a green and white identity shape fans and narrative. Estadio Atanasio Girardot, local support and Colombia's greatest club by Libertadores sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals. The sporting project balances a memory of triumphs with the demands of the modern elite.
