History
AFC Wimbledon, founded in 2002 in Wimbledon / Merton, London, is a national football reference and a marked continental presence. Known as the Dons / the Wombles, it collected the climb from non-league to the EFL and the return to Plough Lane. Rivalry with MK Dons (disputa de identidade) e os vizinhos do sul de Londres and a blue and yellow identity shape fans and narrative. Plough Lane, local support and Plough Lane sustain the contemporary project. Youth work, management and competitive ambition define the current cycle against historic rivals.
